Food or Treat 2025
Sponsored by Webbmark Health Solutions
Thank you for showing compassion to your neighbors that have been affected by the expiration of WIC & SNAP benefits, immigrant displacement and the U.S. government shutdown by participating in Webbmark Health Solutions’ first ever Food-Or-Treat Relief Campaign. Initially, designed to repurpose Halloween/Fall Festivals/ Dia de Los Muertos, this site will now feature all types of food or social assistance events from Oct 31, 2025 through November 30, 2025. The information collected in the site registration form is uploaded daily into an interactive google map for people to easily locate your site and get the items they need.

In addition to managing this site and the live Food or Treat Map and all campaign advertising, we will be making sure that one of the Most forgotten groups of people in MOST hunger relief campaigns will be fed. Who are they? Babies under the age of 6 months.
Ideally, these precious tiny humans can only exclusively eat breastmilk in order to ensure that they have long term health and reduced risks of developing asthma, ear infections, obesity, diabetes and other neurological delays. If babies are not fed breastmilk, then only formula is recommended as a substitute for the first 6 months. With moms on the move, insecure housing, potential supply chain disruptions in addition to formula recalls, the best investment into the long term nutrition relief for babies 6 months and under is providing mothers access to breastfeeding support. The World Health Organizations recommends that infants be breastfed up to age 2 for the many benefits and the reduction in almost 7 million infant deaths worldwide.
So your upfront investment into breastfeeding support goes beyond the few days of this campaign and may immediately extend for 2 years of nutrition support. However, the monetary savings of chronic disease prevented for both Baby AND MOTHER provides a lifelong impact. Finally, if you aren’t convinced about the necessity of breastfeeding support, here’s a few stats. Memphis, TN has ranked in the top 5 in the Nation for Infant Mortality, Shelby County, TN Maternal Mortality (maternal death rates) Were the highest in the state of TN, but guess what’s worse TN RANKED NO. 1 in Maternal Deaths in the USA between 2018-2022 by 2023 Maternal deaths declined throughout the State of TN EXCEPT IN SHELBY COUNTY, TN. Then Memphis ranks TOP 5 in deaths from BREAST CANCER. Finally one last MIC DROP statistic; BREASTFEEDING HELPS PREVENT ALL THREE: INFANT MORTALITY, MATERNAL MORTALITY & BREAST CANCER.
What does Breastfeeding have to do with the WIC closure?
Many mothers relied on the Women Infant and Children’ free peer counselor program to help them initiate and sustain breastfeeding. The peer counselors were already furloughed before November 1. In addition, Methodist South closed its maternity ward that served about 450 mothers in the early part of 2025, further exacerbating the lack of access to post-partum breastfeeding support to both WIC and NON WIC recipients alike.
Webbmark Health Solutions will be providing mothers with our Breastfeeding Technical Guide based off of research with mothers most at risk for Infant and Maternal Mortality right here in Shelby County. A $15 donation provides one E-book copy of the Book” Nurture for the Nurturer: A 12 Day Meditational & Technical Guide for Breastfeeding Mothers” to a new or expectant mother, while a $25 donation provides a paperback version of the book. Additionally, a percentage of each book purchase will fund a network of local birth workers including Certified Lactation Counselors and Doulas, who have been traditionally excluded from health insurance plans making these evidence based services out of reach for even middle income mothers as well.

Thanks for turning Halloween, a reflection on death, into a time of rebirth and renewal through your timely relief efforts.
